We produce C17200 Beryllium Copper Strip.Flexibility and miniaturization:
Because of its high hardness and good elasticity, beryllium copper alloy can be said to be extremely excellent as an elastic material.
The elastic coefficient of beryllium copper usually refers to the longitudinal elastic coefficient, also known as the Young's coefficient, which is generally obtained from the damage surface caused by the pressure in the tensile test. In addition, in the case of shrapnel, the coefficient of elasticity can be measured directly.
Demonstration diagram of the surface stress and load of a single arm cantilever. The elastic coefficient is an important constant for the design of the moving parts of the connector and the converter. Generally speaking, if the coefficient is too large, a small contact movement will produce a large contact pressure, and if the coefficient is too small, the necessary contact pressure cannot be obtained.
Because the YS/E (yield strength/Young's coefficient) of beryllium copper is larger than the coefficient of stainless steel and phosphor bronze, greater variation and contact pressure can be obtained. If the characteristics of beryllium copper are fully utilized, the parts made of phosphor bronze that obtain the same elasticity requirements are much smaller. Therefore, the size of the external terminal of the moving part is reduced, and the cost of the entire product is reduced.
Because the mechanical tension of beryllium copper is as high as 1500N/mm2, the quality of the connector of the same shape, using beryllium copper, remains the same, but the spacing between the pins is reduced, and it can be designed to be highly integrated. The cost of each pin can also be cheaper than phosphor bronze.
For example, battery terminals, etc., using beryllium copper can achieve a miniature and lightweight design. Similarly, beryllium copper also reduces its size and weight. Comparing the total cost of material saving and the cost of electroplating, the use of beryllium copper is much lower than the use of phosphor bronze.
Fatigue characteristics:
The anti-fatigue properties are of great significance to ensure the repetitive operations necessary for the moving parts of the micro converter or relay. The fatigue characteristics of various copper alloys are shown.
Beryllium copper alloy C17200 has anti-fatigue properties in all copper alloys. On the other hand, beryllium copper alloys C17500 and C17510 exhibit almost the same anti-fatigue properties as phosphor bronze. C17200 Beryllium Copper Strip is your good choice.
