Brass Strip Production Process

2024-05-11

Brass strip, a material with significant applications in many fields such as machinery, electronics and aviation, is unique in its excellent electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance. Its manufacturing process covers many precise links to ensure its high quality and excellent performance.

First, there is the stage of careful preparation of raw materials. The main components of brass strip, copper and zinc, are mixed in precise proportions and then carefully screened and cleaned to ensure the purity of the raw materials.

Then entering the smelting process, these prepared raw materials are fed into the high-temperature furnace. As the temperature gradually increases, the raw materials begin to melt and fuse to form uniform liquid brass.

Next comes the casting process, in which liquid brass is carefully poured into a pre-designed mold. After cooling and solidification, the brass strip is initially formed.

This is followed by the rolling stage. The initially formed brass strip is fed into the rolling mill. After continuous extrusion and stretching by a series of rollers, the shape of the brass strip gradually becomes flat while reaching the required thickness and width.

This is followed by a drawing process, where the rolled brass strip is fed into a stretching machine and further stretched under the action of force, making it thinner and more regular in shape.

This is followed by the annealing phase, a critical step that removes stress in the brass strip while improving its mechanical properties through heating and holding, followed by gradual cooling to room temperature.

Finally, there is the cutting and packaging process. The annealed brass strip is precisely cut to the required length and width, then cleaned, dried, and properly packaged to become a high-quality brass strip product available on the market.
